2014 Oscar Predictions

Tonight is the night, everybody! It’s the one we all love to bitch and moan about not mattering one bit, yet, we still sit back, get tense, and watch attentively as people win, and lose awards that seemingly don’t mean much. But in all honesty, who cares about all that?!?!

It’s Oscar season, baby!! Woo hoo!

With that said, here are my predictions for who I think will win, should win, and I think we’d all love to see happen (even if it seems highly unlikely). So, without further ado, here are my picks and predictions:

Birdman1

And there you have it, folks! Another year down, which means, another time for Oscars where people lapse into meandering speeches and occasionally get played-off by the music. Neil Patrick Harris will do a fine job tonight, although, I wonder whether or not he’s going to try and order-up any pizza, or take Twitter-crashing selfies. Either way, it’ll be a fun night!

Hope you all enjoy it!

and I’d like it if American Sniper went home empty-handed

Pretty great list, man! The intro blurb pretty much sums up my general feeling about the ceremony. Just, uh, one correction. Birdman wasn’t nominated for Film Editing. It most definitely should’ve been but…

In a perfect world for me, Whiplash would win Best Picture, Rosamund Pike would win Best Actress, and Jake Gyllenhaal would show up and take his deserved Best Actor award.

I loved Grand Budapest and Foxcatcher. Haven’t seen Birdman yet. Will never, ever see The Judge.Great list! Perfect way to drink in Oscar morning.

Oh yes, in a perfect world Jake Gyllenhaal would crash the party and win Best Actor! Totally agree with polarbears16. And Christopher Nolan definitely needs a lil love. Great post!

I agree with a lot of yours! But Birdman isn’t nominated for editing… Which seems wrong

Very nice picks. Not to be a jerk, but in Best Actor you have Michael Keaton for The Theory of Everything.

I like the different winning scenarios for each category!

So surprising to see our “Will Wins” and “Should Wins” differ so much. I think Eddie Redmayne deserves to win, but I’m afraid he won’t. Norton is a strong #2, but J.K. Simmons should and will get it. I hated Boyhood, but I’m afraid it’ll come away on top. At least we can all agree that Julianne Moore deserves it, now that I’ve seen “Still Alice.” But I think Reese Witherspoon is a really strong candidate, too.

I predicted Alejandro González Iñárritu for Best Director, but Big Hero 6 was a shock. No idea that would triumph over How to Train Your Dragon 2..

You did much better than me. Boyhood was robbed. sigh 🙂

I agree – Boyhood should have won! That movie was robbed!
